Tire Swing

Two little kids just playing in the yard
Me and my brother we couldn't go far
There was an oak with two forked limbs
One for me and one for him
Daddy tied a rope at the top of that old tree
And ran it through an old 75R16, and he said

Take my hand, nice and slow
Hold on tight, don't you let go
You're about to feel like you're flying
Son I know you might be scared
But that's okay, because I'm right here
You'll be all right
And we spent the day just holding on tight to that
Tire swing

We were sixteen when I gave her my heart
Looking for love in the back seat of my car
She said I was crazy, I was about her
I thought I'd lost my mind, but I'd never been more sure
One night I brought her back to the spot by that old tree
I pulled out a ring, and got down on one knee, and I said

Take my hand, nice and slow
Hold on tight, don't you let go
We're about to feel like we're flying
Girl I know you might be scared
But that's okay, because I'm right here
We'll be all right
And we spent the night just holding on tight to that
Tire swing

Daddy said, son that tree won't be there forever, neither will I
But there's a little boy out there waiting on you
To show him how to fly, so I said

Take my hand, nice and slow
Hold on tight, don't you let go
You're about to feel like you're flying
Son I know you might be scared
But that's okay, daddy's right here
You'll be all right
So we spent the day just holding on tight to that
Tire swing, yeah

Mm, that tire swing
Yeah it's good life when you're holding on tight to that
Tire swing
