One More Day

Sitting in my vulnerability is how I see today
Your big wide eyes still stare right back at me
They won't always feel the same
A father offers harbor
A safety from the sea
And even when you suffer
You can look to me and breathe

I know I won't always be your hero
I'll make mistakes and you won't look at me the same
But for now, I'll take the adulation
And try and stretch it out for one more day
One more day

I feel like I'm standing on top of the world
When I allay your fears
You're wondering how I know so much
Well, it's taken so many years

A father offers shelter, protection from the storm
And anytime you need it, just come on home
(Just come on home, just come on home)
I know I won't always be your hero
I know I'll make mistakes and you won't look at me the same
But for now, I'll take the adulation
And try and stretch it out for one more day
One more day

I'll take the admiration
One more day
I'll take the adulation
One more day
A father offers shelter
One more day
Protection from the storm
