Slowly but surely, like Orpheus
I walked away
Leaving those that I love in the past
As I search for my place
As the spring turned to winter
I found some solace in the frost
Decided that someday, I won't feel lost

Slowly but surely, my brother offered me a plate
Baked goods he'd made
I declined, and said "not today"
I could stomach it
But it would upset my brain
And I don't want to subject myself
To any more pain

The pink skies, the sunset
I'm tucked into my bed

Little joys aren't for everyday
