Mistakes.
I've made mistakes in my past, I'm not proud of
I've had regrets, I can't change the outcomes
"Are you ok?", I say "no", they ask me why not
I've got to make it and find a way out
But I'm running out of luck
I'm running from my past, finally catching up
I want to travel back but I'm stuck with how it was
Part of who I am but that life ain't what I want
Messed up so many chances in my past
I wish that I had a way to fix them
Sometimes I stop and ask myself
Would it really make a difference?
If I could get five minutes with my old self
Maybe I could make him listen
This life will sell you happiness and then flip the script
With a flick of a switch, it will pass you by in the blink of an eye
Expect to hit a bump or two, when you can't afford to lose
At fourteen years old, how was I supposed to know that
I would have to step up as the man of my home?
Spending every day alone waiting for my mother to get back home
She was working from the sun up to sundown
Just to keep the food on the table
I hope I make her proud, God willing if I'm able
I've made mistakes in my past, I'm not proud of
I've had regrets, I can't change the outcomes
"Are you ok?", I say "no", they ask me why not
I've got to make it and find a way out
But I'm running out of luck
I'm running from my past, finally catching up
I want to travel back but I'm stuck with how it was
Part of who I am but that life ain't what I want
Feeling like a ghost
I look inside my mirror and I see right through myself
That is how I feel about my life
Always wanted to be somebody
I know you got no reason to care about me
And I'm just being honest
Does being a good person matter if no other people know it?
Whoever said life's a game is a liar
'Cos life will cheat you every chance it gets, we cannot fight fair
Back then, I was too young to know that I was born into a nightmare
I find a home inside my dreams, only place I'm alright is in there
I tried to leave the pain but it's still at my front door
Been through hell and back, still have nothing to show for it
If life really is a game, then it's a Monopoly board
No amount of money could ever change me, life is priceless
I've made mistakes in my past, I'm not proud of
I've had regrets, I can't change the outcomes
"Are you ok?", I say "no", they ask me why not
I've got to make it and find a way out
But I'm running out of luck
I'm running from my past, finally catching up
I want to travel back but I'm stuck with how it was
Part of who I am but that life ain't what I want
No that life ain't what I want
The old me is dead and gone
Old me is dead and gone
I bury the pain
Old me is dead and gone
I've had regrets, I can't change the outcomes
"Are you ok?", I say "no", they ask me why not
I've got to make it and find a way out
But I'm running out of luck
I'm running from my past, finally catching up
