The Angel Poet

There was a time where I had
No witty rhymes
Or sturdy walls

My love poured free on a
Girl who seemed
To run the world

I watched her hands scribble
Beauty into fruition

With lead and pen
In my bones and skin
Love was written by the Angel Poet of Lebanon

She spoke in strength
Wrote of love
And all that mattered

I fell still
My soul grew ill
And it knew shame

My words were plain
My mind took reign
And I let her go

But in the end
In my soul and sin
Remained the love for the Angel Poet of Lebanon

There was a time
Where I had no witty rhymes
Or sturdy walls
