The Opera

I enter through the doorway
And step into a dream
Sheltered from the veil of night
A marvel of man's hand
A vaulting reaching for the clouds
Below - the blood red seats
Rising in the center
A stage in black and gold

A candle light upon the wall
The flames are calling me
In there I see a crowd to flee a blazing fire sea
The haunting screams, a missing key, a gruesome history

The Opera
Rebuilt from ashes of soaring pain
Now to rise again
The Opera
Not all forgotten, a shade remain
Evil left a stain

In front of me - a wall of sound
A sea of strings and brass
Hear the fierce rehearsal
Reverberate the hall
Proud stands the conductor
All follow his command
Hoping for the curtain calls
Within these haunted halls

Then suddenly, there I see
A shiver of the candles
The balcony - a chilling breeze that no one seems to feel
A haunting that I can't deny - tonight someone will die

The Opera
Rebuilt from ashes of soaring pain
Now to rise again
The Opera
Not all forgotten, a shade remain
Evil left a stain

I hear the voices of the dead
So many evils I have bled
Now I hear her in my head

The Opera
Rebuilt from ashes of soaring pain
Now to rise again
The Opera
Not all forgotten, a shade remain
Evil left a stain

Rebuilt from ashes
Of soaring pain
Not all forgotten
Evil left a stain
