The Prodigal Son

The eagle's glaring down on them
Watching the insane
Professing to be righteous
To king and hierophant

The child stole the fire
In hubris with his hands
Adversary to the insane
Humbled when he failed

Pharisees jeer at the child
For the privilege to not indulge
And the pride to try to change
Coughing, they cast him out

A street of porches of parties
The denizens all cheer
Lost is the soul of the child
His Father he revoked for here

Feel the chill of the wind blow
Beginning descent down
The kykeon's kicking in
High Priest holding crown

To his Father he comes home
For now he knows the land
Stolen the fire of Logos
The child now more than a man
