Weapons Of The World

The weapons of the world, they're sharp and they're sly
They cut deep in the dark, like a blade in the night sky
They can sing you a tune, that sounds so sweet
But they leave a scar as they plan your defeat

But I won't pick up the sword of this age
Won't let the fire of anger set my heart ablaze
I'll stand in His armor, with the truth as my guide
In the battles of the soul, I'll let His Word decide

They fight to get ahead, with every cunning move
With weapons they wield, there's so much to lose
But it's not just the body that's left to bleed
It's the soul that suffers, where the real wounds feed

But I won't pick up the sword of this age
Won't let the fire of anger set my heart ablaze
I'll stand in His armor, with the truth as my guide
In the battles of the soul, I'll let His Word decide

Your name gets twisted, in the mouth of deceit
Every mocking word is a stone at your feet
But the real danger lies in the whispers so sly
That try to destroy or make you comply

But I won't pick up the sword of this age
Won't let the fire of anger set my heart ablaze
I'll stand in His armor, with the truth as my guide
In the battles of the soul, I'll let His Word decide

God has given you armor, so strong, so pure
With His Holy Word, you can stand secure
So grab your sword, be ready to fight
In the battle for truth, let His light be your might

It's tempting to strike back, to join in the fray
To let the rage out and have your say
But remember the armor, remember the call
In His strength alone, we stand tall

So I'll turn from the weapons the world holds dear
I'll stand with His truth, with nothing to fear
For in the end, it's not the sharpest blade
But His love and His Word that will never fade

But I won't pick up the sword of this age
Won't let the fire of anger set my heart ablaze
I'll stand in His armor, with the truth as my guide
In the battles of the soul, I'll let His Word decide

The weapons of the world may cut and may sting
But with His armor, I'll find my wings
With His Word as my sword, I'll stand in His grace
For it's in His love alone, I'll find my place
