to all my friends

To all the friends I have lost
To all the friends I have lost

Sometimes I wonder
If I'm ever a thought in your mind
Or have you forgotten about the times
That we laughed until we thought we'd die

And the worst part
Is i know there's more to lose one day
No matter the promises we make
We don't know in the end who will stay

I tried to write an angry song, but found I'm just sad now
Knowing people come and go whenever they like
I think I wanted this more than you
I'm thinking I was just a moment in your life

Do you wish we'd kept in touch?
Was it fun for a time? Did you have fun taking me on that ride?
I look back at our texts and I see blue lines
Stopped saying hi, wondering what's going through your mind
And now it's been too long, maybe that's just my pride
Hard to diagnose who decided not to try

We didn't have a falling out
Which makes it worse somehow
Wondering if this was my fault
Or was it lack of effort on your part
No one to blame just hurts to have a good friend lost

To all the friends I have lost
I still think of you
We didn't invent the concept
Of growing apart
But with us it feels brand new
I'll admit my heart it hurts
To know that we, we don't talk
To all the friends I have lost
I'm glad that our paths crossed
