The Samaritan Woman at the Well

At Jacob's well, beneath the scorching sun
A woman walks, her soul is undone
With a jar in hand, her story in her skin
Seeking water to quench her thirst and sin

A stranger arrives, his eyes are peace
"Give me a drink," he says with ease
Surprised, she answers, "You're a Jew
Why speak with me, a Samaritan too?"

"If you knew the gift I speak
You'd ask for water your soul does seek
The water I give will become a spring
A well of life, eternal offering."

"Give me this water," her soul implores
"I'll thirst no more, return no more."
"Go, call your husband," he tells with grace
"I have no husband," she states in place

"You've spoken true," with love he unveils
"you've had five husbands, and more prevails."
She recognizes the Messiah, her spirit awakes
She goes to the town, "Come, for heaven's sakes!"

At the well, in a divine encounter
The woman found peace, a new life's venture
The water that quenches, true love's embrace
In Christ she found her eternal place
