Dorsey Lane

Walking down the gravel path on
Dorsey lane where I feel at place
Where the hydrangeas grow and the willow trees flow
Down by the lake where I spend my days

Writing poetry
And watching
The suns light filtering through the leaves
I'm finding peace
While listening
To the wind telling their stories

By the bloomed hydrangeas sits an abandoned car
A jaguar from 1974
And I lay on the hood of it, and drift until it's time
To watch sun setting at 6:43

And see the colors change
To pink and violet shades
While the sky guides my mind to peace
Out at Dorsey lane
Where I feel at place
And exist with all I can see

Oh by the lake
Under the willow trees
Lays a broken swing
That I had to fix
So I could feel the wind
That spoke to me again
On dorsey lane
I feel most safe
My one escape
