Break in the Clouds

I miss the days when I'd sit on the shore
Watching the sun as it meets the sea
Embraced by the warmth of the sand
And the lights
Never blinded me

But one day the clouds grew darker
And the sky that once caressed me
Tightened its grip
And now it strangles me
Till I can no
Longer breathe

Caught in the tide and I'm struggling
To keep my head above the surface
As I desperately try
To convince myself it's worth the fight
Praying one day there'll be a break in the clouds

Panic fills my mind the same way as the water
Pouring into
My fragile lungs
I know what they say
You gotta think of the long run
Try my best but it's easier said than done

Cause I'm getting tired of feeling like I'm swimming in circles
Going round and round
As I hear the thunderous sounds of the waves crashing down
All I know is I can't afford to drown

Caught in the tide and I'm struggling
To keep my head above the surface
As I desperately try
To convince myself it's worth the fight
Praying one day there'll be a break in the clouds

Caught in the tide and I'm struggling
To keep my head above the surface
As I desperately try
To convince myself it's worth the fight
Praying one day there'll be a break in the clouds
