Pedestal

There's a significance to the single chair at the table's end
Don't assume you've earned the right for even a single second to sit there and pretend
You'll never have the support to rise in status and be more than what you are
This is our domain, we'll protect and defend it, but let you play your minor part

We'll play along with your fool's games to keep the illusion of peace
But I can assure you the day will come when the goodwill and charity will cease
The height of your pedestal is temporary and you'd be well advised to keep it close to the ground
Else you'll find a longer drop coming when it all comes crashing down

You can't even see it but your actions are bringing your end closer
You think you have everyone fooled and that you are seen as the savior
But that veil dropped long ago, we all see you for what you really are
So we'll sit back and watch as you pretend because in the end you'll not get too far

We'll play along with your fool's games to keep the illusion of peace
But I can assure you the day will come when the goodwill and charity will cease
The height of your pedestal is temporary and you'd be well advised to keep it close to the ground
Else you'll find a longer drop coming when it all comes crashing down

The height of your pedestal, your fools games to keep the illusion of peace
But I can assure you the day will come when the goodwill and charity will cease

The height of your pedestal is temporary and you'd be well advised to keep it close to the ground
Else you'll find a longer drop coming when it all comes crashing down
You can't even see it but your actions are bringing your end closer
You think you have everyone fooled and that you are seen as the savior

But that veil dropped long ago, we all see you for what you really are
So we'll sit back and watch as you pretend because in the end you'll not get too far
But that veil dropped long ago, we all see you for what you really are
