Luna's Lullaby

Take off, land again
Drop me down to the free land
What is there to see?
An hourglass in an empty hand
Hear me out, let us in
We're your neighbours, homily friends
When can we shake hands?
Writing dates on new-found flags

Moons rise, suns do fall
What a place to call our own
How long till they see the pride of the flag steady in the ground?
It takes time. Time and work
Sign the solars, right of birth
When will it take shape?
Will it ever stand its ground?

I should know the reason as to why we found this unchartered earth
You. You can't see through me
I am not the looking glass or your bait

Throw it out, reel it in
Pull me up to the Luna glitter
When will I touch gold?
A platinum bullet carves the paths we walk
Hear me out, let us in
We're your neighbours, lonely friends
What's it gonna be?
A stop or start of a Luna heart

I should know the reason as to why we found this unchartered earth
You. You can't see through me
I am not the looking glass or your bait
