Atlanta bus station
I'll do my best to paint a picture
It's women who spit when they smoke
It's men who ask to borrow your phone
There's a young guy he's wearing no shoes
There's an old lady who's partially nude
Everyone mutters and everyone yells
It's a shit dipped concrete annex of hell
I'm tasting the smells and chewing the sounds
I wait for my bus but I'm wondering how
I find myself here at home with misfits
When I'm so supposed so much better than this shit
Eye to eye with people I've judged
I can't reach my perch from this place in the mud
Shoulder to shoulder with total scum
Can't they see I'm nothing like them?
Lifeboat we're in is starting to sink
My high horse seems to be adding the weight
A sense of entitlement lodged in my mind
But if they're here and I'm here then who the fuck am I?
A prison visiting room
I'll do my best to paint a picture
Killers they whisper traffickers cough
It's a dim grey limbo god forgot
I'm tasting the smells and I'm chewing the sounds
I'm here for my dad but I'm wondering how
He finds himself here at home with convicts
When he's supposed to be so much better than this shit
Eye to eye with people I've judged
I can't reach my perch from this place in the mud
Shoulder to shoulder with total scum
Can't they see I'm nothing like them?
Lifeboat we're in is starting to sink
My high horse is just adding weight
Entitled attitude lodged in my mind
But if they're here and I'm here then who the fuck am I?
You can't feel superior to people you're in it with
These are your peers and you just gotta deal with it
These are your peers, man, you just gotta deal with it
Too much time inside your own head you lost sight of what it is
