Northern Lights

Getting farther from the water,
To the cabin where we fell in love
That jacket fit you like a glove

Red faces, snow traces,
Embraces I never want to end
In life's adventure you were my best friend

A part of me wishes that I asked to stay
But when I watched you leave, I didn't say a damn thing
I should have said" I love you" on that winter night

We reached our destination, imagination
Couldn't have prepared me for this sight,
Green reflections deep within your eyes

You read the Bible by the fire,
I thank the Lord you came into my life,
For perfecting this Alaskan sky
