Attitude

I saw a shark in the bathroom sink
It isn't always as it seems
I didn't even let out a scream
Maybe I was in a dream
Maybe everything was a dream

I got up and went outside
Listening to Marcus cause he was right
Early enough to see the sunrise
Early enough to rub my sore eyes
My whole world went red
Then I opened my eyes again

Throwing rocks into the river
And it sinks, down, down, down
It never flies out of the water
And hits the sun
To tell me I'm not the only one

There's a problem with my attitude
And that I should practice gratitude
But what's the point if the man in the sky
Is just some dude to me
Thank God I don't have to think about
Where I'll end up

I'm too young to be my age now
I'm too old to mourn and sit back
I can feel like I'm still changing
But I'm stuck in the same spot
I can tomorrow run a distance
But I'd still like some assistance
Aren't you scared of running far far away
