Neon Notions

There lives a girl up on the hill
West of where the sky and the river part
At night she walks the edges of the meadow
And sings for the stars
And the two barred owls under the moon
Harmonize a somber tune
The women of the village fame find it strange she's known throughout the town
They say she talks dreams of neon notions
And the way they sound
One day soon she'll come of age
And see herself beyond this mountain range
And the words she writes will come to life
And the pennies thrown will turn to gold
Well that little girl grew and off she flew
With crafted wings her mom and daddy spun
And through the years those wings would be
The only thing moving her along
In the lion's den and evil men
Oh every consequence would make her strong
And the woman she'd become to be
Would be the woman ready for the world to see
There lives a woman on the hill
Nestled where the buildings shadow the ground
At night she walks the edges of the cities
And sings for the crowds
They can't help but say "don't you find it strange that your name is known to all around"
She said she'd always dreamed of neon notions and just followed the sound
