TRAIN TO NOWHERE

Come gather round people hear my story
About a young boy who had a gift
I remember the face of my teachers
Gazing at me as if I were weird

I still smell the fumes of the old factory
Poisoning the air we used to breathe
I remember squabbles with my brothers
And my father's hand upon my head

Then quickly the sickness slipped into my brain
My mother's tears would escort my days
I still hear the sound of her muffled sobs
Coming from behind her bedroom door

All is lost the dust settled all around
That's how it goes in the great scheme of things
Everything that dies is gone forever
Train to nowhere take me far from here
