One thing I wished that I had fully known
Was how you think you know it all before you're fully grown
Well I guess that's moral of the story
Focus on getting ahead instead of looking for glory
After 35 years I think I got it right
The difference now is that I know my light
Strength comes from the bonds that you forge
That's the thing that really helps you when you're crossing the gorge
Did you spend your time making foes or a friend
Talkin' homies that you know who got your back till the end
If you chose it did you make a true partnership
Or were you self centered
To your partner sheeeet
No shade thrown

Don't put me in a casket
Now we've laid the foundation for the over drive don't go blowing all your gaskets

Every bond we that have is a two way street
So people gotta be aware of who they keep
Make sure our people are invested
Instead of finding comedy in who they be testing
Who would have guessed it
Hits to your emotions fuels your outlook on the future
And causes the erosion
To the blessings you see
And that kind of energy
Puts a mental barrier on what you want to achieve
So when you're down
And you're knocking out
You wanna give it up
You wanna walk it out
All the bad people
You gotta block it out
Find your true squad
And start to talk it out
I say all of this caz no one does it alone
Sometimes we need a shoulder even now that we're grown
ET phoned home
But everyone on this earth has someone caring bout them
And they're underneath this ozone
