Missing People

Streets wind their way through places I called home
I didn't give them a second thought as I walked those streets alone
I'd register who and what I saw everywhere I'd go
And if anyone ever noticed me I'd swear I didn't know

For the longest time I couldn't tell
What it was that seemed so strange
Something seemed to be missing but I didn't know what had changed
As years go by I'm becoming more invisible day by day
Losing a bit of who I was while I slowly fade away

Missing people I didn't know at all
They didn't touch me in a meaningful way
But just the fact that I existed for them
Brought some light to my day

It's like someone has left that I didn't even know was there
Maybe I pretended not to notice now I pretend not to care
The city streets are smaller now Something made them contract
Life's a little bit emptier since they stopped looking back

Missing people I didn't know at all
They didn't touch me in a meaningful way
But just the fact that I existed for them
Brought some light to my day
