ORNAMENTAL CHRISTMAS

It comes blowing in on a southbound wind
Around this time of year
The season begins, inviting us in
To a holiday full of cheer

We head to the attic the children are frantic
Grabbing the strings of colorful lights
Plugging them in, just watch 'em spin
Around the tree that shines so bright

Then it starts to snow and we see the glow
On their smiles as they run outside to play
The magic is here it's crystal clear
The big day ain't so far away

Surrounded by a stack of boxes
And every year they grow
Open each one and my mind gets lost in
Family gatherings from years ago
The decorations inside awaken the child
And keeps me forever believing
In very merry ornamental Christmas
Memories

The kids are asleep, just me and the tree
Family gifts paint the evergreen
And I'm lost in remembering
How every single one means the world to me

Surrounded by a stack of boxes
And every year they grow
Open each one and my mind gets lost in
Family gatherings from years ago
The decorations inside awaken the child
And keeps me forever believing
In very merry ornamental Christmas
Memories

My heart's as warm as the fire
Peaceful as can be
Peaceful as that homemade angel
Sittin on top of the tree

Surrounded by a stack of boxes
And every year they grow
Open each one and my mind gets lost in
Family gatherings from years ago
The decorations inside awaken the child
And keeps me forever believing
In very merry ornamental Christmas
Memories

In very merry ornamental Christmas
Memories
