Rifles, Shotguns & Glove Box Pistols

Rifle shotguns and glove box pistols in my high school parking lot
All together I've numbered kids, but no one ever got shot
I remember getting called on the intercom out of my morning math class
Cause the principal wanted to see my new 12 gauge and find out where I was catching bass

I let him feel the heft of my gun but didn't give up my fishing spots
He said he admired the blue of the barrel and just the area would help his fishing a lot
Nobody'd ever heard of school shootings, things were handled with words and the occasional fist
The guns were mostly for hunting and minimizing carjacking risks

The problems today aren't the guns, it's more about how kids are being raised
And attention seekers on steroids, fueled by internet rage

And I let him feel the heft of my gun but didn't give up my fishing spots
He said he admired the blue of the barrel and just the area would help his fishing a lot

Nobody'd ever heard of school shootings, things were handled with words and the occasional fist
The guns were mostly for hunting and minimizing carjacking risks

The problems today aren't the guns, it's more about how kids are being raised
And attention seekers on steroids, fueled by internet rage

And I let him feel the heft of my gun but didn't give up my fishing spots
He said he admired the blue of the barrel and just the area would help his fishing a lot
Nobody'd ever heard of school shootings, things were handled with words and the occasional fist
The guns were mostly for hunting and minimizing carjacking risks

The guns were mostly for hunting and minimizing carjacking risks
