Where I'll Always Be

I can't stop dreamin of leavin
It's so cliche
I don't even leave my bed
But I imagine running away, away, away, away

I'm gonna leave the city
Move to a smaller town
I'll wait tables with a drawl
Know everyone around

But I'm not nice enough
To make a living on tips
And lord knows I'm too shy
To live on everybody's lips

So maybe instead
I'll get out of bed
And build a life I love here

I'll go and see the sequoias
Find a home out where
I'll live among the trees
And nobody will find me there not there not there nowhere nowhere

I'm gonna hug a redwood
And I'll drink from a creek
I'll go and forage for my food
And no one can call me weak

But I'm pretty weak
And I'm getting old
I get the flu biannually
And I guess I hate the cold

So maybe instead
I'll get out of bed
And build a life I love here

But if I'm unhappy from California to Tennessee
Maybe it's not the people or places
What I might hate most is me
Cause it doesn't matter
Where I go
It's where I'll always be

Even if I go on a crime spree
With a Clyde to love
We'll steal from all the rich
And be forgiven above, above I know we'll be forgiven above

The thrill of getting caught
Will light us every night
We'll live on nothing but the liquor, adrenaline, and fright

But for me and Clyde
I know our fates our bound
Our blood will flow down the gutter
In the center of our town

So maybe instead
I'll get out of bed
And build a life I love here

Hey maybe instead
I'll get out of bed
And build a lie I love here
