As Icarus Descends Introduction
They say Icarus flew too close to the sun, the ultimate act of hubris, and he paid the
Ultimate price for it
But I see it differently
It wasn't hubris
Icarus proved a simple man with hope alone could defy the gods, his betters, and so they
Killed him for it
And as Icarus descends into the crimson sky, he looked to the heavens and smiled
His mortal body crashed into the sea below, and the world wept for him
But the gods, the gods trembled
Ultimate price for it
But I see it differently
It wasn't hubris
Icarus proved a simple man with hope alone could defy the gods, his betters, and so they
Killed him for it
And as Icarus descends into the crimson sky, he looked to the heavens and smiled
His mortal body crashed into the sea below, and the world wept for him
But the gods, the gods trembled
