Miner's Misery

Deep in the bowels of the earth
Where no sun ever shines
Miners toil away in tunnels dark
Risking their lives for a few lousy dimes

Rock dust clogs our lungs as we drill and blast with dynamite
Never know when this mountain will come crashing down on us overnight!

Boss man don't give a damn about safety or how hard we work
Just wants more gold outta them
Veins before some other miner beats him to it first!

Miner's Misery
Dynamite in the Dark... ain't nothin' scarier than that!

We're like rats trapped underground scurryin' 'round blindly

Hopeful there'll be an escape route if disaster strikes suddenly

But today was different -
Something felt off from the start!
Pressure built up deep inside mine shaft

Making my heart race apart!

Then BOOM! The explosion ripped through

Tunnel walls caving them all in!

Falling rocks crushed men alive while others

Burned screaming within inferno hellish hotter than Satan's grin!

I ran for my life dodging boulders & flames

Searing flesh clean off bones

Only to get buried under avalanche of rubble

Collapsing down upon me like dominoes!

Trapped here in the dark, I know my fate is sealed
Slow suffocation or burn to death - no way out of this hell

So as I lay here waitin' for sweet release
Let me tell you one last thing!

The real tragedy ain't dyin' down in a mine shaft like this

It's that we miners are just slaves to greed & lust for gold

Worked hard and died young while fat cats up top got rich!
Miner's Misery
