First there was water

And in the morning
In all His Love
He put the water below and the Heaven above

The Firmament is not like this place

That Heaven and Earth need some space"

So in the morning
God made the land
Then grass and trees and then the ocean's sand

Not bad for one day's work
But when You worry about perfection
You'll only drive Yourself berserk"

So in the morning
God made the sun
Right with the stars and then the days and nights begun
And He said "Hey Old Man
This is all really kinda beautiful!
But when You get up in the morning
Don't forget to make rock-n-roll"

The next day came
And it slipped His Mind
So He made birds and then the fish of every kind
And He said "Hey Old Man
I think You're forgetting about something
So when You get up in the morning
Just try to remember what to bring"

So in the morning
God racked His Brain
But He couldn't remember so He went on just the same
He said: "Hey Old Man
I think that something needs to live on the ground"
And so He snapped His Mighty Fingers
And animals and people were found

Now here's the part
When most stories say
God said "enough" and just relaxed that last day
But the truth of the matter
Is that mankind was out of control
And when He saw He remembered
He said "Let there be rock-n-roll!"
