Dark Horse Coming

I was standing in 1997,
feeling like I just rolled in on the tide.
(I) 'keep looking for the small pathway to heaven.
There's a dark horse coming
I'm not ready to ride.
I keep breezing along in my small world,
thinking everything gonna be alright,[sic – "going to be alright"]
but my friends keep on falling by the wayside,
and there's a dark horse running
I'm not ready to ride.
Well, when I fall on the mountain,
let the panthers scream.
I know it's a sign, but I don't know what it means,
and my loved ones keep saying that it's just a real bad dream.
(Oh, brother!)
(music)
It's for sure that time ain't
moving any slower,
and I keep looking back on my life.
There's some things I wish that I could do over,
but there's a dark horse standing
I'm not ready to ride.
There's a dark horse standing
I'm not ready to ride.
(music)
