Words Of Wisdom
In pages worn by hands of time
Where voices echo thoughts align
We find the wisdom poets share
A legacy beyond compare
Yeats a soul with dreams to weave
With words of gold he did believe
In fragile hopes and whispered fears
In love that lasts beyond the years
Words of wisdom of color and rhyme
Gifts given that stand the test of time
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I being poor have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams
And Carroll played in realms of thought
With creatures wild with battles fought
He twisted words he turned the key
Unlocking doors to mystery
Words of wisdom of color and rhyme
Gifts given that stand the test of time
Beware the Jabberwock my son!
The jaws that bite the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!
And then Shelley warned of power's might
Of kingdoms lost in endless night
Where once a king declared his fame
Now only ruins bear his name
Words of wisdom of color and rhyme
Gifts given that stand the test of time
My name is Ozymandias King of Kings;
Look on my Works ye Mighty and despair!
Nothing beside remains Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck boundless and bare
So find the poems that speak to you
The lines that bring old worlds anew
Let poets' voices guide your way
And keep their words with you each day
Where voices echo thoughts align
We find the wisdom poets share
A legacy beyond compare
Yeats a soul with dreams to weave
With words of gold he did believe
In fragile hopes and whispered fears
In love that lasts beyond the years
Words of wisdom of color and rhyme
