Sex and Love

Many expectations come encased together
People think that sex and love are birds of a feather
A chasm lies between the two
One without the other
Surely can't be that uncommon
But explaining it's a bother

I'd like to think that I can love
All it will take is time
But lack of true experience will meddle with the mind
The rule is that the physical is basic human need
How can I be so far removed from such a simple creed?

Untethered from desire
Worn with verbal abrasion
I won't let down the lovers who
Brim with anticipation

Cause many expectations come encased together
People think that sex and love are birds of a feather

One without the other
Surely can't be that uncommon
Have you ever known another?

The unknown is the hardest part
Is something due or wrong?
And is it even worth your while to stick around for long?

Aware an element's withdrawn
I'll set aside the blame
It's not my fault if there's an impulse absent from my brain

I still have my desires
I crave some kind of closure
You'll feel it in the way I try to hide my discomposure

Timing seems quite crucial while I'm in my younger years

Let patience be your virtue
I don't mean to lead you on
