Note to Self

Note to self: You've been forgetting shit lately
In fact you been barely ringing the bell
And I ain't sayin' that you gotta' shower daily
Been you got to spend some time to try and fix that smell
Self helps a scam they sell in paperbacks
Self improvement might be something else
And never say never is poor wax
For a candle that's supposed to melt itself
Just admit the meanings muddy sometimes
And sometimes your just writing rhymes to fill lines
But if it filled the time alright might as well keep tryin
And honestly its just fine if its just fine
Sometimes it takes time to take your time
Sometimes it hard to even go and take whats mine
And you can turn your cheek, but you cant turn that anger on a dime
So I hope that "What I Got" seems to stay sublime

Note to self: You're all grown up now act like it
And i guess growin is still doin' shit when you wanna strike it
And if Im growing all this resentment in my back pocket
I should turn it inside out and just drop it
Go with the flow but change it up when capable
Leading and following arent separate occupations
The injustice in this country is inescapable
And you can help but you ain't gonna fix the nation
That shit takes people partnerships and understanding
So you ain't gonna get shit done all underhanded
And we all live with the consequences of everyones expanding
Consciousness and it aint always an easy landing
So seek patience in hardest circumstances
But dont wait on the sidelines like highschool dances
And if you wanna ignore what I say well you can take your chances
And get stabbed by opportunity costs ferocious lances
