Hunter-Soldier
The wolves are kept behind this fence, smart and social, stellar sense
Snarling growling, showing fangs, crying, hoping to hear friends
Side by side they circle round, always scouting for new prey
We dug their sleep hole in a mound
That's in the kennel where they stay
These vultures are no raptors wild
They'd rule the sky where the dying die
A rabbit carcass in their cage, nature's staged and well displayed
The birds though stare relentlessly, through your skin as if they see
The bones inside that human pod, latching on to hints of rot
It's been ages since our ancestry acquired all this might
We still like cages for our enemies and fire in the night
We sanitized the lands, now the ones that are left over
Safe and happy in the garden of the hunter-soldier
Hail the lions, kings and queens, daunting, royal, proud and mean
Their manes grow dark, with age comes rage
We wrote that on their social page
Without the bars we'd all be dead, so we keep them locked and fed
A noble beast, and so nearby, now take a pic before he shies
Apes and deer giraffes and bats, crocodiles and fish and rats
Seals flamingo spiders donkeys, and of course us human monkeys
Here's the checkout and the gate, where all the zoo is getting paid
Expand the range for elephants, but first we'll plan a restaurant
It's been ages since our ancestry acquired all this might
We still like cages for our enemies and fire in the night
We sanitized the lands, now the ones that are left over
Safe and happy in the garden of the hunter-soldier
All that we made, a stunning result
Made it all tame, mastered the world
All is explained, all is researched
We will be acclaimed for ending the purge
Oh I know we can't survive
In lands we told ourselves are wild
But if our places would be swapped
And they ruled while we were trapped
Would they be us?
Snarling growling, showing fangs, crying, hoping to hear friends
Side by side they circle round, always scouting for new prey
We dug their sleep hole in a mound
That's in the kennel where they stay
These vultures are no raptors wild
