Fire To Last

I see fire in your eyes, the room starts heating up
You always get your cake and eat it too, I hope this time it's sweet enough
I'll buy us time, even though it don't sell for cheap
I put my hand out on the door and feel the heat
And I can feel the temperature rising, the room's been heating up
I think we're gonna reignite it, at least I got a hunch
You know it's hard but we'll try, we'll melt the stars in the sky
If we're gonna burn it all, let's burn what's in the past
And build a fire to last

Years tried to break us down, like we always knew they would
When rain from those tears dry up, well I've got some kindling wood
Woah-oo-woah-oh-woah
How'd it take so long
Woah-oo-woah-oh-woah
To end up back where we belong

I feel the temperature rising, the room starts heating up
I think we're gonna reignite it, at least I got a hunch
You know it's hard but we'll try, we'll melt the stars in the sky
If we're gonna burn it all, let's burn what's in the past
And build a fire to last
Until we turn to ash

How long does a piece of charcoal glow
How long does a match that's burning slow
Take to light this thing up, only one way to know, oh yeah
Woah-oo-woah-oh-woah
You and me together has been a head turner
But every time we put each other on the back burner

I can feel the temperature rising, the room starts heating up
I think we're gonna reignite it, at least I got a hunch
You know it's hard but we'll try, we'll melt the stars in the sky
If we're gonna burn it all, let's burn what's in the past
And build a fire to last
Until we turn to ash
