A Time to Mourn

The chair is empty, the house is still
Grief settles in, unbidden and real
But even in sorrow, I hear His voice
A gentle reminder to still rejoice
For death is not where the story ends
In Christ the broken heart mends
Oh, there's a time to mourn and a time to sing
A season for sorrow and what hope can bring

Through every tear, His promise rings
He's the God of mourning and new beginnings
The ache remains, but so does His grace
A quiet comfort in this sacred space
He weeps with me, He knows my pain
And through the night, He'll sustain
Joy comes in the morning light
Restoring what's lost in His might

Oh, there's a time to mourn, but healing grows
A love that carries through all we know
The valley fades as His glory shows
He's the God who lives where sorrow flows
Blessed are those who mourn, He said
For they shall be comforted and led
Through grief, His peace will always remain
A Savior who turns loss into gain

Now I carry the memory with love
Held by the promise of heaven above
