Main Vein

A thousand pieces of regret
is what I have become
barely held together by pieces of used chewing gum.
When night falls, the bell tolls
you can see me shy away from the dead light.
Tracing my tracks
piles of garbage everywhere.
A moment of clarity is followed by a taste of despair.
And you taking my hand
leading me away from the fight and out of the dead light.
Spitting blood
just to impress some girl
whose eyes grow wider and wider as I tell her things never heard
until she screams "you're a freak" and disappears into the night
leaves me in the dead light.
I am nothing,
I will remain nothing
if there ever was somebody
chances are I never cared.
But I still there was you
holding me through the night away from the dead light.
