Where We Left Off

It's like something out of a story, made up in your mind
You say you wish it was like this
And then it is, and all of a sudden
You're on a plane and it's on it's way to a place you've never been
And if you blink then you'll miss it
But you're just trying to figure out where your head is

Cause it's midnight again and here I am
Just trying to figure out where the year went
And if anyone's left to listen
It's all startin' to hit home, home

A place that I don't know anymore
Every time I walk out the door, it's like a big tug of war
To my head and my heart, my thoughts and my dreams
But if I don't know what I want, this is what I need

We weren't afraid to dream a little bigger,
Believe me I wasn't born a singer
But I was born with a big heart, raised right
Dad taught me never give up without a fight
And we did, some kids, if we'll win, it's way too close to call
But I still catch you up, where we left off, where we left off

Do you know the feeling that you get
When you accomplish something you work for on your own
Like 30, 000 sold, or around a thousand shows we played
They can't take that away, so hate the words I say or me
But they can never take that away

It's true, too many people believe in what we do
It's insane to me, cause I remember being in high school
Writing words up in my room, and those same words became tattoos
And helped some people make it through, enough to save a life

Who am I to save a life, but you saved mine
But you saved mine
And I think I'm finally seeing, things clearly now
This is my resolution
