The Old Chisholm Trail

Well come along friends and listen to my tale
I'll tell you my story on the old chisholm trail

Come a ti - yi - yippy - yippi - a - yippi - a
Come a ti - yi - yippy - yippi - a

On a ten dollar horse and a forty dollar saddle
I started out punching those long horn cattle

I get up in the morning before daylight
And I go to sleep when the moon shines bright

Oh it's the bacon and beans 'most every day
I'd sooner be a-eating on prairie hay

Well it's working all day in the blazing ssun
Long on trouble, short on fun

We stop for water by a mountain stream
Watching the clouds and dreaming our dream

So long friends I hope to see you soon
Until we meet again keep a' singing this tune
