She Waits

She looks at a picture of a girl dressed in lace
A boy by her side with a smile on his face
And she still remembers the vows that she gave
A lifetime forever, the promise was made

Then she turns down the light
And lights up a candle
Sits in the window
And stares out in the night
'Til the flame flickers out
And the hour grows late
Another night passes, she waits

She picks up his letter and stares at the line

And some nights bring questions, but still she believes
