A Hill Far, Far Away

Have you ever had a day
When you wished
The time would just slip away
Needless to say this is one

I woke to the sound
Of the door slamming again
And that's sure the loneliest sound
I've ever heard

Footsteps on the stairs
Echo through the walls
To remind me how recently you were there
So I made some tea for one
But there was no sugar or honey
Anywhere to be seen
So I forced it down
But it was bitter and cold
By the time I came around
From a dream

I dreamed of a hill far, far away
That ain't never been climbed
Just waiting for me
Where the foothills are green
And they roll on down
To the bluest of seas

But I sure dream a lot of things
But it makes little difference
For as far as my naked
Eyes can believe there's a town
And the city walls are built up high
And dug deep into the ground
Some other man's just
Gonna have to take in the view

Have you ever had a day
When you wished
The time would just slip away
Needless to say this is one
