All the Places

All the places that I've known well most of them are gone
They just closed throughout the years for reasons I don't remember
Now they're good as dead to me
though most of them still living in my memories
I had friends that all moved on, but I'm still standing here
It's the first day of a new year, but nothing's really changed
It's just the same old positions, the same old crusades
And I will be your favorite dog alright,
cause I don't bark and I don't bite

When the circus came to town I rode the??? world inside my mind
But the wheels kept turning round and everyone was giants in my eyes

And I've loosened up with age, but something disappointing
Startles and excites and rattles in my cage
And I try to keep my faith, but I'm always asking questions
If Jesus was a fisherman
would he still have walked on water
Or would he have clung to the bows
With all the mighty storms
that he had seen

And I always miss the mark
I guess it overwhelmed me
I wish you were still here
It's becoming very clear
And I think that I'm starting to shine
And all my lights are coming on
For I pray to God I don't hurt my family name
And that my throat won't tighten up
Before I get a chance to spit out all the life
And find a little bit of luck

All the places that I've known well most of them are gone
They just closed throughout the years for reasons I don't remember
