Window Warshin'

First I take my soapy water
And my squeegee - and my blotter
Ride the scaffold to the top floor
Oops, I left the towels hanging down there by the front door

So I go back down to get em
Only this time I don't forget 'em
Eighty six floors - back to the top
But my squeegee's lyin 'down there on the sidewalk

So I ride down to the lobby ]
But this platform's getting wobbly
Tried to fix it with my free hand
Uh-oh, spilled the bucket right on top of a policeman

When I looked down he was shakin'
Such commotion he was making
Crowds were forming just to view him
That's about the time I skipped and fell into him

He chased me right through the city
He raced me - it wasn't pretty
His ears were smokin and his face was red
I can't repeat the awful words he said
Spoken: After all, this is a family show, ya know

When I got back to the building
I cleaned up what I had spilled and
Started over from the bottom
Squeegee, towels, bucket, blotter now - I've finally got 'em

On the rooftop I saw treasures
Lots of pretty pigeon feathers
I reached over to get a bag full
Now I'm hanging from my shirt up on the flagpole

My shirt is rippin' it's getting drafty
But you know I'm pretty crafty
I can handle little glitches
'Cause I got my trusty parachute inside my britches
Now I'm fallin' - no use mopin'
Tumbling wildly - fallin; faster
Now this day is turnin' into a disaster

Just by chance I hit the scaffold
In a trance - I'm dazed and baffled
I see tweeting birds above my heard
I should have spent this entire day in bed
Spoken: Oh well, that's the way it goies (laught)

Now it's rainin' - wind is blowin'
And my bucket's overflowing'
Suds are fallin' - water slowhin;
Buts its just another day of window warshin'
