Little Sadie
intro
went out one night for to make my rounds, met little sadie and i' blew er down
went back home got in my bed fourty four smokeless under my head.
wake up next mornin, half past nine, saw the hacks and the buggys standin all 'round, gents, gamb'lers standin all a round, taking little miss sadie to er burin grounds.
break
then i thought about the deed i'd done, grabbed my hat and away i run, made a good run, but i was too slow, they over took me in jerico.
i-was-a standin on a corner reading my bill, when up steps a sheriff from thomis ville, he said
"aint your name brown"? member the night you blew little sadie down?
i says "yes ser, but my name is lee", i kill miss sadie in the first degree, and the second degree, have any paper, wont ya read em to me?
(i got sassy with him)
well judge white took his stance, fourty one days, fourty one nights fourty one years, wearin a ball and stripes.
