Trace the Realms to You

There is no city visible, fog obscures the eye
Light in radiant copper pools saturates the sky
Now beneath the tall concrete, scattered, softly boned
Multitudes of solitudes, clustered and alone

I walk along so softly now so I may hear the tide
The rumble of the underground, the ravages of pride
The gentle flower's petal cast upon the iron grate
As hardened footsteps hurry past the hand, beloved fate

The seaward sky is radiant on San Gregorio beach
Seagulls bargain for their catch, calling each to each
Golden traces line the air, invisible yet true
So do I, my angel fair, trace the realms to you

Invisible the threads we weave, unseen the threads we trace
Ubiquitous obscurity embedded in our face
The fates may spin the loom at hand, our histories are writ
As footprints vanish in the sand, the candle is yet lit

Upon formidable immensity the mountainside
Aglow with augers of desire, prescience of the tide
The waves aloft uphold a jewel bright shining as the sun
We start so humbly, become two, and lo, behold the one.

The seaward sky is radiant on San Gregorio beach
Seagulls bargain for their catch,
Fortune they beseech
Golden traces line the air, invisible yet true
So do I, my angel fair, trace the realms to you
