Parrots

In the morning, one April morning
Turned my head up to the sky
From the high tree top came the sweet sound
Waves of color filled my eyes
They lived in cages each one each one lone, listen there
Telling me they're free
It's a hundred parrots and they're singing so sweet I thought that heaven was starring the canopy

In presidio of san francisco
Meet for their morning round
And the sweet song singing always made me late for work just a hundred parrots in the sky
So please mister [?] don't you tear them palm trees down
Ain't no computer in the world going to bring them parrots back around

They're not native, we're not native, but somehow we're all getting by
And they search the city north and south till they smell their parrot kind
We live in houses you and I, days are drifting slowly by
Was it so hard to keep our good friends together just a hundred parrots in the sky
If I hear the sound they cry
I will gather your good friends round, your cage ain't so strong, I'm gonna bust you out
Your cage ain't so strong... bust you out
