Before You

Before you I stand completely depleted of me.
Before you I had a sense that I believed in something.
Now, I'm picking up the pieces that are scattered everywhere.
It's a full time job I have trying to redefine who I am.

Before you entered into this elusive reality,
I swore I had learned how to sense the end and the beginning of me.
But in trying to find common ground, boundaries were broken down
Til the face reflecting back at me
was not what I expected to see.

Heaven knows, I may find myself feeling incomplete after you.
But Heaven knows, when I find myself, I'll be whole and renewed
with the truth that I knew before you.

Chalk it up to experience; one more that helps me define who I am.
I'll take the strength that I've gained and carry on my merry way
through this twisting turning - never ending journey into learning and
returning to Before You.
