The Child Will Mend

I choke on my tears, I ask if there's an end,
To feel the shame of that little girl again.
She went back to a time where an ugly duckling was,
Where she became hypnotized by the potion of a poisoned dove.
She walked for miles down a rusted path,
looking for a healer to come release her.
She walked for miles on busted
glass, picking up the pieces everywhere.

What's it take to see past the illusion,
When a shadow's so dark it blurs your vision.
When you find the last link of the chain
within, break the spell and the child will mend.

Angels dancing round and round my bed,
speaking to me through visions in my head.
And they keep saying, they keep saying,
"look within."

What's it take to see past the illusion,
When a shadow's so dark it blurs your vision.
When you find the last link of the chain
within, break the spell and the child will mend.
