The Watch

I found it in an old cigar box
A timeless treasure my daddy forgot
He put there

A gold face pocket watch
He carried in his old garage
For all those years

And i wounded it up and i helded it up to my ear
And i listened as it ticked away years
And it took me back there in and beneath and old
As he wounded for the hundred time
And spoke this words to me:

He said time
Waits on no one
Like a train
It just goes on
It's more precious than gold
But you can hope
You think it won't run out
But it will
And boy only a woman can make
Time stand still

Well i remembered playing these day
The good lord called in papa away
And how i cried...
Oh it seem like slow motion then
I can't how long spent
Oh he was right
Time does fly

The day i'm gonna tell that
As daddy's words wisdom down the line

The time waits on no one
Like a train
It just goes on
It's more precious than gold
But you can hope
You think it won't run out
But it will
And boy only a woman can make
Time stand still

Yeah he said
Only a woman can make
Time stand still

I found it in an old cigar box
A timeless treasure my daddy forgot
He put there
