The Candy Cane Legend
A long time ago there was a story told
In a country far away
There was a law passed down to all the land
That no crosses could be displayed
The king said no religion could be worshiped
He said no holy songs could be sung
But there was one man
Who God gave a plan
To make a simple candy cane
This man he was a maker of candy
He had a story that he wanted to tell
The kings laws they were unkind
From this man's love and heart there came
A symbol of Christ for all mankind
The cane he made of white
Stood for the purity of Christ
The red stripe to show he died for all our sins
The three thin lines they honored
The Father, the Holy Spirit and the son
The cane is proof that God love's us everyone
The cane was made like a shephard's staff
With a hook shape on the end
It shows that he'll protect us and provide
It's a promise until the end
This tale is true and it live's through you
When you love your fellow man
So God bless you all and remember
