The Shout

Only 3 minutes but I couldnt get out
Carboxed in and noone about
I ran through the town, got there too late
The first time I'd missed the shout
Cars in collision high up on the downs
Front wheels spinning and the grass all around
Starting to smoulder when they came back
In silence making no sound
I knew just what they had found
Someone was calling
They never passed by
Or closed their eyes
There's a village it lies to the west
And went to the aid of some in distress
Put to sea in the heart of the storm
When half of the world was at rest
To the darkness they gave up their best
