Letting Go

It's not easy goin' on from day to day
Knowin' the love that I crave
May never come my way
It's not easy when your eyes look into mine
'Cos although it's me your seeing
It's not me who's on your mind

There's no use in pretending
That my fears will go away
But the thought of being without you
It hurts me more each day

It was never meant to be easy this I know
So why should two grown people
Want to hurt each other so
It was more than either one of us could see
That the love you appeared to have
Was for someone else not me
So I'm faced with fear of letting go
To the only piece of happiness I've known

When I try to understand the way you feel
After all that I have given
The wounds would never heal
Still reality is there for all to see
There will always be a part of you
That does not belong to me

There's no use in pretending
That my fears will go away
But the thought of being without you
It hurts me more each day

It was never meant to be easy this I know
So why should two grown people
Want to hurt each other so
It was more than either one of us could see
That the love you appeared to have
Was for someone else not me
So I'm faced with fear of letting go
To the only piece of happiness I've known.
